Thanksgiving is a day full of friends and family, football games, and food – so much food!
Add diabetes to the mix and things can get a little stressful – downright chaotic even.
And it's easy to think that diabetes management takes a back seat when we're faced with holiday meals. But I'm optimistic to a fault, and I'm here to tell you that we do a pretty damn good job.
Let's take a quick look.Thanksgiving mySugr log entries - I guessed this would be way lower but we found it to be only 14% less than usual! That means you're very engaged with your diabetes even with all of the holiday chaos. Nice job!
Post-meal highs - Another awesome surprise here! With the extra food and off-schedule meals, I expected a lot of highs after meals. But tada! You impress me again with a measly 5% more than usual. That speaks volumes about your ability to deal with even the most complicated diabetes situations. Your diabetes kung-fu is amazing.
More carbs & turkey - Duh.And of course, what is Thanksgiving without giving thanks. Every day we receive heartfelt messages of thanks from so many of you. We appreciate that so much. What you don't hear enough is how thankful we are for all of you. You make our world go 'round, and we love you. Thank you!
